3rd International and 18th National Office Management and Secretariat Congress to be Hosted by Bartın University with TÜBİTAK Support

Bartın University (BARÜ) will host the 3rd International and 18th National Office Management and Secretariat Congress, themed "New Business Models and Sustainability in Office Management," with support from TÜBİTAK.

The application submitted by BARÜ to the 2223/B-Domestic Scientific Event Organization Support Program, managed by the TÜBİTAK Scientist Support Programs Directorate (BİDEB), has been accepted. BİDEB supports domestic events that bring together numerous scientists and industry representatives to share knowledge and experiences, shape the future, compare sector practices with conceptual frameworks, and lay the groundwork for scientific studies. The application from the Office Services and Secretariat Department of BARÜ's Ulus Vocational School has been approved and included in the support program.

Since 2000, the "Office Management and Secretariat Congress" (BÜROKON) has been held at various universities across Turkey. This year, it will be hosted by BARÜ's Ulus Vocational School, Office Services, and Secretariat Department on November 1-2, 2024.

Providing information about the congress, Assoc. Prof. Şükrü Teoman Güner, Director of BARÜ Ulus Vocational School, said, "The 3rd International and 18th National Office Management and Secretariat Congress (BÜROKON) emphasizes the importance of sustainability principles we aim to spread in all areas of life, as well as the impact of changing world and developing technologies on office management, new business models in office management, and the working methods and significance of executive assistants. This year, the main theme of the congress is 'New Business Models and Sustainability in Office Management.' The 'new business models' concept includes the impact of digitalization and artificial intelligence on office management and office life. The 'sustainability' concept highlights the activities aimed at the Sustainable Development Goals in office management and the responsibilities of executive assistants. BÜROKON, which is both national and international, aims to be a scientific event that allows scientists and sector representatives in management processes, especially in office services and secretariat, to share their knowledge, experience, and contribute to the scientific community. We thank our Rector, Prof. Dr. Orhan Uzun, who has supported us at every step of this important organization we will host, and the academic and administrative staff who contributed to this organization with mutual understanding, dedication, and success-oriented work."

Emphasizing the importance of the congress in the field of Office Management and Secretariat, BARÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Orhan Uzun expressed his satisfaction with BARÜ hosting the congress, stating, "We will host this year's scientific congress, held annually at a different university, as Bartın University. We will host various scientists and sector representatives from different universities under the main theme 'New Business Models and Sustainability in Office Management' to address technology, digitalization, and sustainability in office/office management, regardless of the hierarchy in public or private institutions. I thank all our contributors, especially Assoc. Prof. Şükrü Teoman Güner, who led the organization of this international congress at our University, and I wish everyone a productive congress process. I also extend my gratitude to TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal for their support in spreading the scientific ecosystem and TÜBİTAK BİDEB President Prof. Dr. Ömer Faruk Ursavaş for their valuable encouragement in our scientific progress."
