Workplace Training Assessment Exams Completed at Our Vocational School

The Workplace Training Assessment Exams, involving all programs of our Vocational School, have been completed.

The exams, part of the Workplace Training within the 3+1 Education Model adopted by our University Senate in 2019 and encompassing all existing programs of our Vocational School, were held face-to-face from May 4, 2024, to June 5, 2024. During the spring semester of the 2023-2024 academic year, our students received practical training for 14 weeks across various sectors and workplaces in 3 different regions and 6 provinces. At the end of this training, the students participated in face-to-face assessment exams. The Department Workplace Training Commissions asked the students questions about the Workplace Training process, the gains obtained from the training, and the positive and negative aspects of applying theoretical knowledge in practice. The assessment exams were completed through student presentations, the examination of Workplace Training Files, and interviews conducted by the commissions.

Before the workplace training assessment exams, our Vocational School Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şükrü Teoman Güner, had brief meetings with the students. He stated, "As Ulus Vocational School, we have been pioneering the 3+1 Education Model implemented at our university since 2019. Our students have acquired theoretical knowledge over three semesters and participated in Workplace Training in their final semester. We believe that you, our valuable students, have gained experience related to your profession and the business world through this 14-week training conducted during the spring term. We think that the experience you gained by applying your existing knowledge through Workplace Training will help you get ahead of your competitors and start your professional life earlier. Moreover, all the feedback we received from the meetings held by our responsible instructors with the workplace training supervisors indicates their satisfaction with both the training and you. I would like to thank you for representing us in the best way at the institutions and organizations you visited during the Workplace Training process. I sincerely believe that you will always cherish the distinction of being graduates of Ulus Vocational School in your professional lives. I would also like to thank our Rector, Prof. Dr. Orhan Uzun, who has supported our education model from the beginning, our faculty members and administrative staff who worked intensively to support you, and the executives and personnel of the General Directorate of Forestry, the General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre, Bartın Municipality, Ulus Municipality, and private enterprises. Furthermore, many of you have graduated after completing a successful educational period. I congratulate you on your graduation and wish you continued success."
