Academic Board Meeting Held at Ulus Vocational School with the Participation of Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Said Ceyhan

An Academic Board Meeting was held at Ulus Vocational School with the participation of our University’s Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Said Ceyhan. The meeting took place in the Ulus Vocational School meeting hall and was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şükrü Teoman Güner, Director of Ulus Vocational School, vice directors, the school secretary, department heads, as well as academic and administrative staff.
During the meeting, general information regarding the institutional structure of Ulus Vocational School and its departments and programs was shared. A comprehensive evaluation presentation was delivered on ongoing academic activities, as well as current and planned initiatives. Detailed information was provided on the current status of the programs, student profiles, teaching and learning processes, and ongoing projects.
The meeting also addressed the preparatory work and planning for the accreditation process carried out by the Vocational Education Evaluation and Accreditation Association (MEDEK). Program-based self-evaluation processes, quality assurance activities, curriculum updates, and continuous improvement efforts were reviewed. In addition, discussions focused on increasing the academic staff’s scientific publication output, enhancing project development capacity, and strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration.
Another key agenda item was the enhancement of graduate employability. In this context, opinions and suggestions were shared on improving cooperation with industry, expanding opportunities for applied education, increasing the effectiveness of internships and workplace training, and broadening graduate tracking activities. Measures to ensure more effective and efficient academic and administrative processes were also evaluated, along with comprehensive discussions on improving the quality of education and training.
Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Said Ceyhan emphasized that vocational schools play a strategic role in the university’s mission of practice-oriented education and the training of a qualified workforce. Noting that the views and recommendations expressed during academic board meetings serve as important guidance for university management, Prof. Dr. Ceyhan stated that support for the academic and institutional development of Ulus Vocational School—particularly within the scope of the MEDEK accreditation process—will continue with determination.
The meeting concluded with the exchange of mutual good wishes and expressions of commitment to strengthening academic, administrative, and sectoral cooperation throughout the academic term.
