Ulus Vocational School Students Explore the Natural and Cultural Richness of Ulus

Students from Ulus Vocational School had the opportunity to explore the natural, historical, and cultural values of Ulus district in Bartın during a technical field trip organized on October 10, 2025.
Guided by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bilge TUNÇKOL, the event aimed to enhance students’ environmental awareness and familiarize them with local cultural heritage. As part of the program, students visited Kocagöz Mansion and Ulus Ethnography Museum, the Natural Science Center – Taxidermy Museum, Forest School, and Ulukaya Waterfall and Hiking Trail. Throughout the visits, participants examined Ulus’s rich ecosystem and unique architectural texture on site. The nature walk provided an educational as well as enjoyable outdoor experience for the students.
At the end of the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bilge TUNÇKOL highlighted the significance of observing regional values in their authentic setting and stated: “Through such activities, our students not only develop a deeper sensitivity toward nature but also gain awareness about the importance of preserving local cultural heritage.”
Students also showed great interest in the trip and expressed their satisfaction at having the opportunity to discover the natural beauty of Ulus firsthand.
