Ulus Vocational School Proudly Graduates Its 14th Cohort
Bartın University’s Ulus Vocational School celebrated the graduation of its 14th cohort with great pride and enthusiasm during the commencement ceremony held at Kutlubey Campus. The event brought together students, academic staff, and families, creating an atmosphere filled with joy, excitement, and emotional moments.
As part of Bartın University’s 2025–2026 Academic Year Graduation Ceremonies, students who successfully completed their education experienced the happiness of graduation, while their families shared in this meaningful milestone. The ceremony reflected the excitement of embarking on new journeys and the pride of achieving an important academic accomplishment.
Outstanding Students Honored
During the ceremony, the top-ranking graduates of Ulus Vocational School were announced. Merve Tutkun from the Clothing Production Technology Program graduated as the valedictorian, while Gürcan Öztürk, also from the Clothing Production Technology Program, ranked second. Ümmühan Cesur, likewise from the same program, graduated in third place.
Certificates of achievement and commemorative plaques were presented to the top three graduates by Associate Professor Şükrü Teoman Güner, Director of Ulus Vocational School. Students who achieved high rankings within their respective programs also received certificates and various gifts from department heads and academic staff.
Graduates Ready for the Future
In his address during the graduation ceremonies, Bartın University Rector Professor Ahmet Akkaya emphasized the university’s commitment to preparing students for the professions of the future. He highlighted the institution’s efforts in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and information technologies, noting that newly established programs are designed to equip students with the skills required by the modern world.
Offering advice to the graduates, Rector Akkaya stated: “Never surrender your will to anyone or anything. Do not be afraid to leave your comfort zone. Let your roots remain in Bartın while your branches reach the world.” He expressed his confidence that the graduates would continue to contribute to society as lifelong learners, productive individuals, and responsible professionals.
Graduation Oath and Cap Toss Celebration
Following the award ceremony, the graduates collectively recited the traditional graduation oath, reaffirming their professional responsibilities and commitment to their future careers. Students, academics, and families shared unforgettable moments as the excitement of graduation reached its peak.
The ceremony concluded with a countdown and the traditional cap toss, as graduates threw their caps into the air in celebration. Marked by immense joy and enthusiasm, the event became a memorable milestone in the educational journey of the graduating students.
