Ulus Vocational School Forestry Department Completes Applied Training at Forest Depot

Students of Ulus Vocational School’s Forestry Department carried out a technical field trip on November 26, 2025, to the forest depot affiliated with Ulus Forest Enterprise Directorate, organized in cooperation with the Vocational School and the Ulus Forest Enterprise Directorate.

Faculty members of the department, Assoc. Prof. Bilge Tunçkol and Lecturer Nevzat Ada, as well as Ulus Forest Enterprise Director Müşerref Tuğba Ekiz Kader, Deputy Forest Enterprise Director Ali Duymuş, Forest Enterprise Chief Selahattin Özkan, Forest Ranger Zafer Özdenir, and Forest Depot Supervisor Forest Ranger Hamide Özkan participated in the training.

During the technical trip, students received detailed information from expert personnel about log classification, storage processes, stacking techniques, barcoding applications, and shipment procedures. In addition, standardization of forest products, quality classes, and measurement and evaluation methods were demonstrated through hands-on applications.

Having the opportunity to closely examine depot processes, which constitute an important stage of the forestry sector, the students strengthened their professional knowledge and skills through the experience they gained.
