Ulus Vocational School Advisory Board Meeting Held

he Advisory Board, established to enhance the effectiveness of Ulus Vocational School’s education, research, and community service processes, strengthen collaboration with public and private sector organizations, and ensure sustainability, convened online on Thursday, 27 November 2025 at 11:00.

The meeting began with an opening speech and a general introduction of the school by the Director of the Vocational School, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şükrü Teoman Güner. This was followed by a detailed presentation on the newly established Smart Infrastructure Technician Program within the Department of Construction. In addition, updates regarding the accreditation processes of the Forestry and Forest Products and Office Management and Executive Assistance programs were shared with the board.

During the evaluation session, Prof. Dr. Neşat Erkan from Bursa Technical University expressed his satisfaction with the school’s initiatives and shared his views particularly on the processes of the Vocational Education Evaluation and Accreditation Association (MEDEK). Prof. Dr. Erol Kırdar from Bartın University’s Faculty of Forestry also conveyed his appreciation for the school’s achievements and shared his suggestions and experiences related to MEDEK activities. Dr. Necati Evren, a Surveying Engineer and Department Head at BOTAŞ, emphasized the interdisciplinary importance of the Smart Infrastructure Technician Program and expressed his satisfaction in contributing to the course plans during the program’s establishment phase. He also highlighted the value of institutional collaborations, stressing the importance of conducting the practical component of the 3+1 education model within institutions, as well as the benefits of seminars that bring together students and industry professionals.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şükrü Teoman Güner expressed his appreciation for the insights and contributions of all stakeholders and stated that they would be pleased to host Dr. Necati Evren as part of the “Professional Talks” series in the upcoming period. He also emphasized that the school is open to all forms of partnerships, including collaboration and protocol development with well-established institutions such as BOTAŞ. Güner thanked all participants for their support.
