Evaluation Meeting Held on MEDEK Accreditation Processes at Ulus Vocational School
An evaluation meeting on the MEDEK accreditation processes was held at Bartın University Ulus Vocational School as part of ongoing efforts to improve quality standards in education and training and to ensure the effective implementation of accreditation activities. The meeting was attended by faculty members from the Department of Office Services and Secretarial Studies and the Department of Forestry, which are scheduled to enter the accreditation process in the near future. The meeting was also attended by Prof. Dr. Şükrü Teoman Güner, Director of Ulus Vocational School. During the meeting, the departments’ current preparations for the accreditation process were evaluated, and the roadmap to be followed and areas requiring further improvement were discussed.
At the opening of the meeting, the contribution of the MEDEK accreditation process to improving the departments’ educational activities in line with quality standards was addressed. The importance of maintaining the activities carried out within the scope of the process in a regular and coordinated manner was also emphasized.
The meeting covered in detail the activities to be carried out by the departments in accordance with the MEDEK evaluation criteria. The current status of the departments was reviewed, with particular attention given to educational processes, program outcomes, assessment and evaluation activities, quality assurance practices, student-centered approaches, and documentation related to the accreditation process.
During the presentation delivered by Lecturer Dr. Erdal Güler, Deputy Director of Ulus Vocational School, information was provided on the main stages of the MEDEK accreditation process and the relevant evaluation criteria. The departments’ ongoing activities were reviewed within the scope of the presentation, while issues requiring particular attention and tasks to be completed during the accreditation process were also discussed.
The meeting continued with an exchange of views based on the current status of the departments, and the improvements needed throughout the process were addressed. It was emphasized that accreditation activities should be regarded not merely as preparation for an external evaluation, but as an ongoing quality improvement process aimed at continuously improving the quality of education and training.
The meeting concluded with an evaluation of the ongoing preparations of the Department of Office Services and Secretarial Studies and the Department of Forestry for the MEDEK accreditation process, the identification of priority activities, and a discussion of the roadmap to be followed.
