The “Basic Photography Workshop,” organized in collaboration with Bartın University Ulus Vocational School and the Fashion and Style Club, was successfully held with the participation of students and academic staff. During the event, Gökçe Durdu— a student of the Clothing Production Technology Program and also a certified master instructor in her field—provided participants with comprehensive training on the fundamental principles of photography.
The workshop took place on April 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Technical Drawing Hall of Ulus Vocational School. Key topics such as the basic concepts of photography, proper framing, use of light, and composition techniques were addressed in detail. In addition to theoretical instruction, the training was supported with practical applications, allowing participants to gain hands-on experience in photography techniques.
Throughout the training, Gökçe Durdu emphasized that photography is not only a technical skill but also an interdisciplinary field that requires an aesthetic perspective. She highlighted the importance of composition and visual storytelling, encouraging participants to approach photography from a broader and more creative viewpoint.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şükrü Teoman Güner, Director of Ulus Vocational School, who attended the event, stated: “Universities are not only institutions where academic knowledge is delivered, but also learning environments that support the multifaceted development of students. This workshop is highly valuable in terms of enhancing both the technical skills and aesthetic perspectives of our students. Individuals who develop competencies beyond their primary field always stand out in professional life. I hope that such events will continue to increase, and I would like to thank especially the club advisor Lecturer Halide Akkuş and our students for their contributions.”
The event was regarded as a significant activity contributing to the social and professional development of students.
