The event titled “General Project Information, TÜBİTAK 2209-A/B Student Projects, and Guidelines for the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence,” organized in collaboration with Bartın University (BARÜ) Project and Technology Office General Coordination, was held this year with considerable interest and participation from students.

The event began with an informative presentation by Dr. Cevdet Duran from the BARÜ Project and Technology Office. During his presentation, he provided detailed information about TÜBİTAK's research support programs for students, including their scope, application requirements, project processes, and key points to consider throughout the application process. Emphasizing the importance of fostering a project development culture among students, Dr. Duran highlighted that cooperation between industry, students, and academia is one of the most important factors contributing to the success of research projects.
New Regulations for 2026 Applications and the Use of Artificial Intelligence

In the following session, Lecturer Dr. Burak Bodur from the BARÜ Project and Technology Office delivered a comprehensive presentation on the new requirements and procedural updates introduced for the 2026 TÜBİTAK 2209-A/B applications.

One of the most engaging topics of the training was the “Guidelines for the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence,” recently integrated by TÜBİTAK into scientific research processes. Students were informed about how to use generative AI tools, such as Gemini and ChatGPT, appropriately and transparently within the framework of research ethics when preparing project proposals.

While the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence for analysis and scientific research were discussed, particular emphasis was placed on the boundaries that must be observed to avoid violations concerning originality, copyright, and data security.

Practical Evaluation Through a Sample Project

During the practical session, a sample student project previously supported by TÜBİTAK was examined step by step together with the participants. The session demonstrated how AI-assisted literature reviews and reporting techniques could be integrated into project development, enabling students to gain practical insights into the design and preparation of a successful research project.

These educational activities, which aim to strengthen students' motivation to develop research projects and enhance their ability to adapt to next-generation technologies, are planned to continue sustainably in the coming periods.
